More Practice

Tihei
We practised Tihei a number of times today so that we could get a good recording of the actions. We have placed video of the actions on the waiata page. Check it out - Talia, Evelyn and Emily were our stars this week!

Pa Mai
The boys learned the chant for Pa Mai today - they sounded great by the end of the session - words for the chant are on the waiata page.

Making Poi
Well done to all those who remembered to bring in their plaited cords for making their poi. This week we are working hard to get everyone's poi made.

Miss Coad and Mrs Earl showed everyone how to make the poi in our kapahaka session and we are going to make a small video that we will place on the blog, that should help you if you are still not sure. Year 5-8 students are able to come and get the filling and cable ties from Mrs Earl and have a go at making their own.

Year 1- 4 students will be called into the library during the lunch hours this week and we will help you make yours. All Year 1-4 students need to bring a white supermarket bag and their plaited cord to these sessions.

Learning How to Swing the Poi
Hopefully we should be ready to start learning to swing the poi next week!
